I’m thrilled to share that K-pop sensations Ateez have announced their Oakland Arena concert for July 17, 2024. However, there’s been some recent news that has left their fanbase eagerly waiting: member Seonghwa mourned the loss of his grandfather. So, we’re all holding our breath and hoping he’ll join the group on stage tonight.
As a devoted fan and gamer, I can’t help but feel elated every time Seonghwa graces the stage at an ATEEZ concert. The energy in the crowd is palpable when he delivers his heartfelt speeches. At one particular performance, he shared that his name translates to “I will become a shining star for you.” It’s hard to fathom a world tour without Seonghwa’s enchanting presence adding that extra sparkle to our favorite K-pop boy band.

Will Ateez member Seonghwa perform tonight, July 17, in Oakland, USA?
I’m thrilled about Ateez’s upcoming Oakland concert, but there’s some news that has me a bit concerned as a fan. KQ Entertainment, their music label, recently shared an announcement regarding Seonghwa’s involvement in the event. It appears that he won’t join us for the Soundcheck portion of the concert, but we can look forward to seeing him on the main stage during the main performance.
Regarding Seonghwa’s grandfather’s unfortunate demise on July 15th, KQ shared: “With great sadness and regret, we announce that Seonghwa’s grandfather has passed away. Our sincere condolences go out to Seonghwa as we remember the dearly departed in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. We kindly ask for your support and encouragement for Seonghwa.”
I’m excited for “Towards the Light: Will to Power” in Oakland on July 17th, but unfortunately, I won’t be able to join the soundcheck that day. However, I’ll still be there for the concert performance as planned.

During July 2024, Ateez commenced the American leg of their “Towards the Light : Will to Power” world tour at Tacoma Dome with a stunning performance. They are scheduled to perform at nine additional venues for this tour within the United States.
