Assassin's Creed Shadows Dev Diary leaked by IGN China, base-building revealed

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I must say that the latest Assassin’s Creed Shadows leak has piqued my interest more than any other AC game in recent memory. Having played through every major installment since the original, I can confidently say that the prospect of building my own Hideout is a feature that has me genuinely excited.

There’s been a lot of chatter about Assassin’s Creed Shadows, primarily due to the debate surrounding its main character, Yasuke. Recently, Ubisoft unveiled both AC Shadows and AC Invictus, and it seems that the latter has also sparked quite a buzz in recent times.

With the recent AC Shadows leak, it’s clear that there are numerous topics worth discussing regarding the game taking place in feudal Japan.

Build your own Hideout

As a gamer, I must admit, the sneak peek of Assassin’s Creed Shadows by IGN China has truly impressed me. Among all the new features showcased, it’s the base-building aspect that’s really grabbed my attention and left quite an impression on fellow gamers who’ve caught wind of this leak.

In the game Assassin’s Creed Shadows, players are granted an area where they can establish a personalized “Sanctuary”. This allows them to construct buildings, walkways, and numerous other features, effectively tailoring their hideout according to their preferences.

It’s recommended that you view the entire video, however, if you’re pressed for time, fast-forward to the 3 minutes and 54 seconds mark to catch the part discussing base-construction.

In the world of AC Shadows, a dynamic weather system is incorporated, influencing the gameplay landscape in various ways. For instance, a pond could freeze over during winter, making it unsuitable for hiding as it would be solid and walkable. This could potentially open up new areas to explore.

What excites me the most, are the new waypoints, which won’t reveal everything on your minimap. You will only be able to climb on top of them and locate different objectives in your line of sight.

If Ubisoft significantly alters their game design for this title, it could pique my interest enough to give it a shot, despite having moved away from the series in the past.

What do you think? Are you excited about AC Shadows?
