‘As long as audience believes they’re husband and wife’: Pragya Jaiswal on working with Nandamuri Balakrishna despite double age gap

Presently, Pragya Jaiswal is floating on clouds of joy due to the triumph of her latest movie, Daaku Maharaaj. In this film, she worked alongside seasoned actor Nandamuri Balakrishna, a collaboration they previously had in Akhanda. Yet, some have noted the noticeable gap in their ages. Now, the actress has spoken up about this matter and shared her perspective on it.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Pragya Jaiswal stated that she feels casting choices are influenced by the role and an actor’s ability to convincingly play it. The actress added that on-screen appearances shouldn’t be hindered by age differences. During the filming of Akhanda, there were concerns about their compatibility, but she felt it was executed skillfully. As far as the audience is concerned, they should buy into the characters’ relationship and the storyline should be presented effectively.

Speaking as a devoted follower, “When it comes to Akhanda, we pondered over how the age difference would translate on-screen. However, with its skillful execution, if the audience perceives us as husband and wife, and if our portrayal is faithful to the story and characters, I believe the age gap becomes irrelevant.” – Pragya Jaiswal

During the same interview, Pragya Jaiswal expressed warmth towards Nandamuri Balakrishna, referring to him as a beacon of “optimism.” She also mentioned the valuable lessons she has absorbed from this seasoned actor, emphasizing his straightforward nature.

She described him as straightforward yet courteous, treating everyone with equality, and just an all-around great individual. In terms of working together, she noted that he’s highly cooperative as a fellow actor.”
