As a dedicated Nike SB fan, I must admit that the start of the year has been relatively calm for them, but the silence is about to be broken with a series of thrilling launches on the horizon! The SB Dunk Low continues to reign as the brand’s crown jewel, boasting upcoming collaborations with diverse talents such as Yuto Horigome, Supreme, and CSEF. Now, the list grows even more exciting with Arts-Rec, a skate and sneaker shop hailing from San Diego, unveiling their unique interpretation of this iconic model.
With just one initial glance, Arts-Rec provides a fairly comprehensive understanding of what the project will entail. The shoe design incorporates a variety of materials, including a pink toe box, animal print-inspired overlays, green midfoot sections, and shaggy orange Swooshes. Additionally, there appears to be a wordmark on the lateral heel, possibly referencing the shop, but its specific text is yet to be determined.
Currently, neither Arts-Rec nor Nike SB have announced a precise launch date, but hints suggest it’ll be coming this autumn.
