The sequel of Chiyaan Vikram’s movie “Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2″ is expected to premiere on March 27, 2025, following an initial announcement in January. A recent report suggests that the delay in its cinema debut could be due to possible streaming on online platforms.
According to a recent industry report by Sreedhar Pillai, the release date for Chiyaan Vikram’s latest movie has been pushed back to March because an OTT platform purchased the rights for its post-cinema streaming, provided that it premieres during the last week of March.
It seems the filmmakers have decided to delay the release of “Thudarum” featuring Mohanlal from January 30, 2025, to some time in May instead.
It’s being said that the creators might be looking at this opportunity since they haven’t finalized the OTT (Over-the-top) rights for the movie with any streaming service yet. If the film releases in the second quarter of 2025, which is from April to June, streaming platforms could potentially purchase the rights for streaming. But it’s important to note that this is merely a report, and an official release date hasn’t been set just yet.
Discussing films, the movie Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2, featuring Chiyaan Vikram as the main character, is helmed by director SU Arun Kumar. This action-packed film centers around the tale of a village grocery store owner named Kaali, which unfolds against a rural setting.
In his humble life with his spouse, Kaali encounters a perilous criminal underground, triggering the unfolding of numerous enigmas. The remainder of the film explores these events and their resolution. As this motion picture serves as the initial part of a planned two-part series, it will also include a backstory or prequel.
Instead, let me tell you that Thudarum is a dramatic film starring Mohanlal in the main role, with direction by Tharun Moorthy. The story revolves around Mohanlal’s character who plays a taxi driver.
