Did FBI Season 8, Most Wanted Season 7 and International Season 5 get canceled?
Although the FBI series has been given a green light for its eighth season, unfortunately, CBS has decided not to move forward with Season 7 of Most Wanted and Season 5 of International.
On May 20, 2025, all three shows aired their latest season finales. As a result, fans have been anxiously awaiting what’s next for these series. Fortunately, it has been confirmed that FBI will return for another season. However, the spin-off series, Most Wanted and International, have not been renewed for additional seasons as of yet. For those unaware, FBI was renewed for both its eighth and ninth seasons in April 2024, well before Season 7 even premiered. It is set to air during the 2026-2027 schedule on CBS.
Instead, the specific reasons for canceling FBI’s Most Wanted and International were not explicitly stated. However, it appears that scheduling conflicts and doubts about their financial success led to their cancellation. Interestingly, another FBI spin-off called FBI: CIA is set to debut in the future.
Amy Reisenbach, CBS Entertainment President, addressed the cancellation of the spin-offs recently. She stated, “It’s not easy to end shows and we had a lot of options this year. The schedule is really full and so we always have to look at all of our shows, look at the aggregate information, the creative of where they are in their life cycle, what the finances look like, what the ratings are, and then we make those tough decisions.” (via Deadline)
Additionally, she mentioned, “We’re thrilled to collaborate with Dick Wolf and can’t wait to introduce CIA on our schedule. However, we need to watch our budget carefully, and unfortunately, those deals and shows didn’t add up financially for us. But we’re eager to work with Dick. We’re looking forward to debuting a fresh two-hour block next season.
