For devoted League of Legends enthusiasts, the arrival of Netflix’s Arcane was an unexpected delight they had long anticipated as faithful adaptations of their beloved online game. Released in November 2021, this animated series quickly gained critical and viewer acclaim. Now, after three years, fans are eagerly awaiting the second season of Arcane, which premieres on Netflix on November 9. This final season will provide closure to the series’ narrative. Recently, co-creator Christian Linke has shared insights about the franchise’s future.

Co-creator Christian Linke confirms more Arcane stories after Season 2

As an ardent fan, I’m thrilled to share that Riot Games, the masterminds behind League of Legends, have announced they are actively developing various initiatives to expand the Arcane IP.

The Emmy-winning TV writer disclosed his future plans with Arcane, post Season 2, in a recent interview with Screen Rant. In the discussion, Linke reassured fans that Arcane is just the beginning, as he is presently developing more stories. “Arcane is just the first one. We’re working on a bunch of new projects, a bunch of new stories from across the different regions and characters of our IP,” he confirmed. “Some of them are actually continuations of character stories from Arcane,” the writer further stated. 

In a recent statement, Link mentioned some challenges he encountered while producing Seasons 1 and 2 of Arcane. Despite these hurdles, his diverse skillset exuded optimism regarding the future of the series following its successful navigation through production difficulties. “We’ve survived our initial trial and learned if we could pull this off,” said Link, “Now, we can start envisioning bigger dreams, which is truly exciting.

Although Arcane’s co-creator has made positive statements, it’s still uncertain which League of Legends storylines will be developed next. Fans can only speculate by watching for the release of Arcane Season 2, at which point they might better understand which characters may continue in Line’s future plans for the series.
