In simpler terms, the Arbitrum Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) has started a vote on a plan that could reshape the security structure within its network. This plan, called AIP or Arbitrum Improvement Proposal, aims to introduce the Bounded Liquidity Delay (BoLD) system in both Arbitrum One and Arbitrum Nova. If this proposal is accepted, the implementation of BoLD is planned for February 2025.

The suggested modifications aim to help Arbitrum achieve its objective of advancing as a Level 2 rollup. This action tackles the “State Validation” issue highlighted in L2Beat’s assessment, signifying a substantial stride towards building a stronger and more efficient rollup system.
