Apple delays AI-improved Siri features as far as 2026

Apple has revealed this week that it is postponing the introduction of upcoming Siri features which would have incorporated advanced AI capabilities to enhance its functionality as a more customized and sophisticated digital assistant. Originally planned for release in the near future, Apple’s AI technology has proven more challenging to implement than expected, with the new features now set to debut at some point “within the next year.

This week, Apple Inc. revealed that they are postponing the release, as confirmed by their representative Jacqueline Roy, who communicated this information via Daring Fireball.

Apple revealed its strategy for enhancing Siri with advanced AI capabilities, dubbed “Apple Intelligence,” in the summer of 2024. Since then, they have teamed up with entities such as ChatGPT to fine-tune their AI models for seamless integration with Siri. The objective is to enable Siri to deftly manage your applications and offer helpful features like scheduling appointments, monitoring your task lists, and facilitating conversations – all aimed at making your digital life more convenient.

Regrettably, it appears that Apple is not quite prepared to transform Siri into the highly advanced AI digital assistant they had envisioned. Keep an eye out for future developments regarding Apple’s AI project, known as “Apple Intelligence,” as updates will be shared with you exclusively at Shacknews by the end of 2026.
