As a seasoned gamer of the streaming wars, I must say that Netflix continues to outdo itself with its captivating and intriguing original series. The teaser trailer for Apple Cider Vinegar has piqued my interest like no other – not even the latest Fortnite update could distract me from it!
Netflix unveiled a sneak peek of the upcoming movie titled “Apple Cider Vinegar“, a semi-true tale inspired by a fabrication, featuring Kaitlyn Dever portraying a genuine social media personality who concocted a false cancer narrative.
The upcoming miniseries has Samantha Strauss (Nine Perfect Strangers) as its creator. Jeffrey Walker (The Clearing) is responsible for directing the episodes. The writing team includes Samantha Strauss, Anya Beyersdorf (The Twelve), and Angela Betzien (Total Control).
What happens in the Apple Cider Vinegar teaser trailer?
The trailer opens with Dever’s Belle Gibson revealing that she was diagnosed with a stage-four tumor. As medical procedures failed to work, she opted to heal herself naturally through specific healthy lifestyle choices. The wellness guru quickly became famous for managing to heal herself through a healthy diet. Belle, however, was never sick — and she never had cancer.
Apple Cider Vinegar draws inspiration from the intriguing narrative presented in “The Woman Who Fooled the World” by Beau Donelly and Nick Toscano. Here’s a sneak peek at the trailer: [Insert Trailer Link]
At the inception of Instagram, Apple Cider Vinegar centers around two young women battling life-threatening conditions. They embark on a journey towards health and wellness, captivating their worldwide online audience in the process. However, this intriguing narrative is somewhat based on falsehoods, as it portrays a true-ish account of the rise and collapse of a wellness empire, examining the society that fostered its growth and the individuals who eventually brought it down.
Actress Dever has made a name for herself in films such as Booksmart, Ticket to Paradise, No One Will Save You, Unbelievable, Rosaline, Dopesick, among others. Similarly, Apple Cider Vinegar also features Alycia Debnam-Carey (Fear the Walking Dead), Aisha Dee (The Bold Type), Tilda Cobham-Hervey (I Am Woman), Ashley Zukerman (Succession), and Mark Coles Smith (Mystery Road: Origin).
Here are the actors freshly added to the project: Susie Porter (Known for “Irreverent”), Matt Nable (“Transfusion”), Phoenix Raei (“The Night Agent”), Chai Hansen (“Night Sky”), Richard Davies (“Offspring”), Kieran Darcy-Smith (“Mr Inbetween”), Catherine McClements (“Total Control”), and Essie Davis (“The Babadook”).
