Apple announces iPad Air 2025 refresh starting at $599

For 2025, Apple has unveiled an update to the iPad Air series. This month marks the release of its newest iteration, featuring a more potent and efficient chip and a budget-friendly starting cost for eager buyers. The revamped iPad Air is expected to hit stores mid-March 2025.

This week, Apple unveiled the upcoming 2025 iPad Air update via a press release on their website. Starting prices for the two available sizes are set at $599 for an 11-inch model and $799 for a 13-inch model, respectively. Pre-orders are currently being accepted and the device is projected to be delivered starting March 12, 2025. The main highlight of this update is the inclusion of the latest M3 chip from Apple Silicon. This new chip reportedly doubles the performance of an iPad Air with an M1, while offering up to 3.5 times faster speed compared to an iPad Air with the A14 Bionic chip. Additionally, the tablet will be compatible with various Apple accessories such as the Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil.

In its latest iPad Air update, Apple appears to prioritize integrating its smart AI system prominently, much like it did with the recently launched iPhone 16e. This new iPad Air will provide access to Apple’s advanced AI technology, similar to what we saw with the iPhone 16e’s debut. It’s a bit unusual that both products were introduced in this manner via press releases.
