Apple (AAPL) COO Jeff Williams will step down this month

As an ardent Apple enthusiast, I’m excited to share some intriguing news about our beloved tech giant. After decades of dedicated service, Jeff Williams, a pillar of Apple since the 90s, is stepping down from his role as COO this month. His shoes will be filled by Sabih Khan, currently Apple’s senior vice president of operations, who is poised to bring fresh leadership to the table.

Apple recently announced in a blog post that the change in COO, transitioning from Jeff Williams to Sabih Khan, is part of a previously arranged succession plan. Since 1998, Jeff Williams has been an integral part of Apple, collaborating closely with CEO Tim Cook. Sabih Khan, who joined Apple in 1995, will be taking over the COO role.

For as long as I can recall, Jeff and I have collaborated closely, and it’s fair to say that Apple owes much of its success to him. He’s been instrumental in establishing one of the world’s most admired supply chains; spearheaded the introduction and ongoing development of Apple Watch; designed our comprehensive health strategy; and guided our team of exceptional designers with insight, compassion, and commitment,” Tim Cook stated.

Jeff Williams remains in charge of Apple’s design department, with Tim Cook as his supervisor, until Williams officially steps down from Apple later in the year.
