As an Apple enthusiast with a penchant for following financial matters closely, I must admit that I am both intrigued and a tad nostalgic about Luca Maestri‘s departure from his role as CFO. His tenure has been marked by a steady hand and a keen financial acumen that has guided Apple through some of its most critical periods.
At the start of next year, Apple plans a minor restructuring. Currently, Luca Maestri has held the position of Apple’s Chief Financial Officer for some time, but come January 1st, he will step down from this role and be succeeded by Kevin Parekh.
On August 26, 2024, Apple disclosed that Luca Maestri, the present Chief Financial Officer, will step down from his position on January 1, 2025. Kevan Parekh, currently Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis at Apple, is set to take over this role starting from the same date, and he will also be part of the executive team.
According to the announcement, Maestri will remain at the helm of our Corporate Services departments encompassing IT, security, property management, and development. A key aspect of his role will be reporting directly to Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook.
“Luca has played a crucial role as a top-tier collaborator in overseeing Apple for the long haul. He’s been key in enhancing and boosting the company’s financial standing, interacting with shareholders, and instilling fiscal prudence throughout every aspect of Apple,” Tim Cook stated in his declaration. “We consider ourselves lucky to carry on reaping the benefits of his guidance and wisdom, which have defined his time at the firm.”
