Anurag Kashyap lauds SS Rajamouli for maintaining originality in work while ‘10 other cheap versions’ try to copy him

Over the past decade, SS Rajamouli has consistently demonstrated his exceptional talent as a movie director. Every film he creates is remarkable, bordering on genius, and he doesn’t hesitate to try something fresh for each new venture.

Lately, fellow movie maker Anurag Kashyap has praised the director of Baahubali for preserving a robust originality in his craft, even though numerous others try to emulate and reproduce his approach to filmmaking and direction.

Speaking at a film school, he noted, “One of the most notable examples is SS Rajamouli. However, there are around ten imitations of Rajamouli, but not all of these can be like him since he’s an original, correct? Many believe his approach is effective and attempt to replicate it. Yet, his ideas stem from within—he himself knows their origin.

As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but acknowledge that SS Rajamouli’s films have consistently shattered box office records. From the epic Baahubali series to RRR and beyond, this director continues to set new standards for himself, always aiming higher with each new project.

Currently, the film director is engrossed in capturing scenes for his upcoming major production, titled SSMB29, featuring stars like Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Prithviraj Sukumaran.

There’s a great deal of excitement building among followers as they look forward to an epic team-up between this highly respected filmmaker and some of the best performers in the industry.

Director Rajamouli is shooting the Mahesh Babu movie at different places in India because its storyline involves traveling around the world and needs a variety of outdoor locations. From photos leaked from the set, it seems like they are building enormous sets that look like giant landscapes.

The significant and crucial shooting schedule for SSMB29 has recently concluded in Odisha, with the cast and team filming scenes amidst the picturesque table-top hills as a backdrop. Despite numerous leaks from the production, the creators have successfully preserved a high degree of secrecy about the movie.
