Anupama Parmeswaran shone brightly with her first Malayalam film Premam, starring alongside Nivin Pauly in 2015. Since that time, she has been involved in only a few Mollywood productions before choosing to step away from acting in 2021.
After a gap of four years, the actress has returned with her latest venture titled “Janaki vs State of Kerala,” where she will share screen space with Suresh Gopi.

At a function in Kochi to unveil her upcoming movie’s soundtrack, Anupama explained the cause of her absence from Malayalam films. Despite following roles that sparked her interest, the actress also reflected on the harsh critiques leveled at her acting talent.
She stated, “Many individuals have criticized my acting skills online. Despite these comments, the director of this film chose me to play the main role. This movie carries a deep emotional resonance, and I am honored to embody the character of Janaki. Thank you for giving me this opportunity.

Afterward, the actress chose to express gratitude towards those who criticized her, for it was their negativity that propelled her to reach such remarkable accomplishments.
According to her, the film centers on a powerful female protagonist, and I’m grateful that Pravin placed faith in me to portray her. That alone feels like an accomplishment. I’m thankful to everyone – from those who backed me to those who criticized me – for contributing to my journey to become the person I am today.

Recently, Anupama found herself in the spotlight after whispers of a possible romance with Dhruv Vikram emerged. Interestingly, they are set to appear together in the upcoming movie titled “Bison.
The whispers began after spectators spotted a unique playlist within a music app, which seemed to display an affectionate moment between Dhruv and Anupama as its profile picture. Yet, neither of them has publicly acknowledged this speculation.
