As a long-time gamer with a soft spot for fast-paced platformers, I must admit that the delay of Antonblast for the Switch has left me a little disheartened. Having eagerly anticipated its release since backing it on Kickstarter, the prospect of waiting even longer is not ideal. However, as a seasoned gamer, I understand the importance of ensuring peak performance, especially when dealing with Nintendo’s hardware.
According to Summitsphere’s announcement, the release date for the Switch version of Antonblas’t has been pushed back, but rest assured, it is expected to drop on stores by the end of 2024.
PC version still set for December 3
Prior to Tony Grayson from Summitsphere’s Studio revealing his statement, I had eagerly marked my calendar for December 3, the day I thought the PC and Switch versions of our beloved game would drop.
On that particular day, you’ll still find Antonblast on Steam for PC. However, Switch users will need to exercise a little more patience; they’re expected to get their hands on the game by the end of the year.
Statement by the studio
Summitsphere clarified that to deliver optimal performance on the Switch, a bit more time is required, allowing the game to live up to the elevated expectations set by both Summitsphere and Nintendo.
Backers who received a key for the Nintendo Switch edition on Kickstarter may either choose to hold off until a launch date has been announced, or they have the option to exchange it for a Steam version through their Fangame survey.
Here you can read the full statement by Grayson:
Hello all, here’s a new development regarding the Nintendo Switch edition of ANTONBLAST. Kindly find the details below.

A hammer against Satan
The Kickstarter-backed game primarily revolves around high-speed platforming, with an emphasis on demolition and detonations.
In a nutshell, the action-packed duo known as Staring Dynamite Anton and his “Awesome Rampage Hammer” crew must obliterate peculiar realms and engage colossal enemies that dominate the entire screen to retrieve spirits seized by none other than Satan himself.
Even though a demo has already been released, the Steam edition of the game is set to debut as scheduled on December 3 at 12 p.m. ET. To mark the occasion, Summitsphere will host a Twitch livestream on the same day, where they’ll answer fan questions, discuss the game, and provide a sneak peek.
Are you a backer of the game? Will you give Antonblast a try?
