Anthony Mackie Details Sam Wilson’s Evolution as a Superhero

As a seasoned gamer who’s spent countless hours immersed in various superhero universes, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement as I anticipate the arrival of Captain America: Brave New World. The transformation of Sam Wilson from a dedicated counselor to the new Captain America is intriguing, and I’m eager to see how Anthony Mackie brings this evolution to life on the big screen.

Anthony Mackie believes that Sam Wilson, as Captain America, will undergo significant changes in the upcoming movie titled “Captain America: A Fresh Perspective“. He’s been discussing the journey of this evolving superhero.

What did Anthony Mackie say about Sam Wilson?

At the Disney APAC Content Showcase in Brazil (as reported by Deadline), Mackie discussed the development his character has experienced throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Regarding Wilson taking on the role of Captain America, Mackie believes that there will be much of his original self still present.

Mackie stated that Sam’s transformation is straightforward; he remains a counselor. However, his role has expanded beyond just assisting soldiers. Now, he also leads his local community in the nation.

Mackie pointed out that, given that there’s no super soldier serum within him, Wilson needs to exercise caution in his actions and be tactful when engaging opponents.

Mackie stated, “The serum sets it apart – you can challenge anyone, but without it, you need to be cunning and devise alternative strategies for victory. Sam, being a counselor, relies more on his intellect than physical strength. He uses his wisdom rather than force. Essentially, he’s more of a friend and ally to everyone.

Apart from Mackie, Danny Ramirez will portray Joaquin Torres/Falcon, while Harrison Ford takes on the part of Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, also known as Red Hulk. Originally played by William Hurt in the MCU, the role of Thaddeus Ross has been recast due to Hurt’s passing in March 2022.
