As a cinephile with a penchant for independent films and a soft spot for stories that delve into the human condition, I am absolutely thrilled about the upcoming release of “Anora”. The new poster is captivating, and the fact that it’s from none other than Sean Baker, whose work I’ve admired since his breakthrough with Tangerine, only adds to my excitement.
As a devoted film enthusiast who has closely followed the works of Sean Baker over the years, I was thrilled to learn that Neon has released a new poster this week for his upcoming drama, Anora. Having been captivated by Baker’s unique storytelling and unconventional narrative style since I first saw “Tangerine,” I eagerly await the release of this latest project. The teaser poster has only fueled my anticipation, as it hints at a powerful and moving story that will undoubtedly resonate with audiences. I can’t wait to see what Baker has in store for us with Anora and how it will further solidify his position as one of the most exciting directors working today.
The new poster stars Mikey Madison and Mark Eydelshteyn in a loving embrace. Anora is the latest film from Baker (The Florida Project), who took home the Palme d’Or at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, giving Neon yet another critically acclaimed film at the festival.
Check out the new Anora poster below:
Who is the cast of Anora?
In the film, actors such as Mikey Madison (from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Scream), Mark Eydelshteyn, Yuriy Borisov, Karren Karagulian, and Vache Tovmasyan take on leading roles. The production is being handled by Baker, with Samantha Quan and Alex Coc also involved.
In the summary for the movie, we find that Anora, a prostitute living in Brooklyn, experiences a Cinderella-like transformation when she encounters and marries a wealthy Russian’s son. However, upon hearing this news back in Russia, her fairy tale starts to unravel as the parents make their way to New York with the intention of annulling the marriage.
Baker is recognized for his eighth film, Red Rocket (2021), following Tangerine (2015) and The Florida Project (2017). Before Tangerine, he had already directed Starlet (2012), Prince of Broadway (2008), Take Out (2004), and Four Letter Words (2000).
