This year, Anirudh Ravichander is gearing up to make his mark on movie screens with projects like Coolie, Kingdom, Madharasi, and others. Now, the musician has shared his thoughts on upcoming films featuring Rajinikanth and Vijay Deverakonda before they hit theaters.
During his conversation with Sudhir Srinivasan, the musician expressed, “I’ve got two upcoming films – Kingdom and Coolie. Both projects appear promising based on what I’ve seen so far. I’m overjoyed about this, and instead of using a flurry of fire emojis, I’ll simply express my excitement openly.
Anirudh mentioned that he watched approximately 30-40 minutes of Vijay Deverakonda’s movie, finding it quite appealing. He’s almost finished watching Coolie and finds its atmosphere ominous yet excellent. He’s eagerly awaiting the full film as it promises a fresh perspective.
Discussing his additional projects, the music director candidly shared that he’s unsure of the precise launch dates yet, however, he hinted at having between two to three releases scheduled for this year.
Regarding the movies Coolie and Kingdom, it’s worth noting that Rajinikanth, the Superstar, plays the lead in an action-packed film titled Coolie. This movie, which is believed to be a standalone project separate from director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s cinematic universe (LCU), has him portraying a powerful character with a darker shade.
The movie is set to hit cinemas on August 14, 2025, competing with the movie “War 2,” starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR. Notably, it also stars Nagarjuna Akkineni and Upendra Rao in prominent roles.
Coolie boasts a special appearance by Aamir Khan alongside a principal cast consisting of Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, Soubin Shahir, and several other notable actors in pivotal positions.
On the flip side, Vijay Deverakonda will star in the main role for the upcoming film titled Kingdom. Scheduled to hit theatres on May 30, 2025, this movie is an action-packed spy thriller and kickstarts a planned two-part series. The Jersey director, Gowtam Tinnanuri, is at the helm for this project, with Bhagyashri Borse joining as the female lead following the release of the song Hridayam Lopala.
