Andy Serkis has gathered a distinguished group of voice actors for his animated rendition of George Orwell’s timeless novel “Animal Farm.” Among the talented cast are Seth Rogen, Gaten Matarazzo, Steve Buscemi, Glenn Close, Laverne Cox, Kieran Culkin, Woody Harrelson, Jim Parsons, Kathleen Turner, and Iman Vellani. Apart from directing “Animal Farm,” Serkis will also contribute his voice to the project himself.
Screenwriter Nick Stoller, known for movies like “The Muppets” and “Storks,” transforms the tale of a band of animals rising against their human keepers and seizing control of the farm. Following their successful revolt, they encounter a new set of difficulties under the leadership of a sly pig named Napoleon (portrayed by Rogen). In this altered circumstance, they must discover the strength within themselves to resist Napoleon’s rule.
In collaboration with Adam Nagle, David Rosenbaum, Jonathan Cavendish, and Serkis, Aniventure and Imaginarium are involved in the production. Additionally, Harrelson assumes an executive producer role, partnering with Matt Reeves who previously worked with Serkis on “The Batman” and “Planet of the Apes.” The animation is handled by Cinesite under the supervision of Connie Nartonis Thompson, who has experience in productions such as “Frankenweenie.
