As a seasoned gamer with years of immersion in the captivating worlds of Nintendo, I can’t help but feel a twinge of melancholy at the news of Yasuaki Iwata’s departure from the esteemed gaming giant. His contributions to the soundtracks of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Animal Crossing: New Horizons were nothing short of extraordinary, weaving enchanting melodies that became an integral part of my gaming journey.
It’s been shared that one of the talented composers who created the stunning soundtracks for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Animal Crossing: New Horizons left Nintendo some time ago without making a big fuss. More recently, Yasuaki Iwata disclosed that he is no longer with the company and is now engaged in projects outside of Nintendo, which he plans to unveil soon.
On his personal social media platform, Iwata disclosed his departure from Nintendo, a detail also reported by Video Games Chronicle. He elaborated that he had already transitioned to new projects earlier this year.
In his own words, written last year in July, he stated that he had moved on to a fresh opportunity. He wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who has stood by them throughout their journey, as well as to all the players who have enjoyed their games and appreciated the music they created.
I have a bit of news to share with you. In fact, last July, I retired from Nintendo and took my first step towards a new challenge. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all the associates who supported me for so long, and to everyone who has played and enjoyed my works, as well as those who listened to the music through them…
