Tony Gilroy, the mind behind Andor, shared a piece of advice he received from Disney during the creation process of the hit Star Wars series.

Recently, Andor concluded its two-season journey, with the series finale releasing on Disney+ this month. Set before the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, this show features Diego Luna as Cassian Andor, Kyle Soller as Cyril Karn, Adria Arjona as Bix Caleen, and a host of other characters.

At the ATX TV Festival, I shared through Laughing Place that during our show’s initial season, Disney requested one minor alteration from me – to avoid having a character utter “f the Empire.

Gilroy’s quote, “They asked, ‘Could you not do that?'” was rephrased as “Maarva Andor (Fiona Shaw) instead said, ‘Let’s resist the Empire.’

In addition to the main cast of Andor, we find Stellan Skarsgård portraying Luthen Rael, Genevieve O’Reilly stepping into the role of Mon Mothma, Denise Gough joining as Dedra Meero, Faye Marsay taking on Val Sartha, Varada Sethu as Cinta Kaz, Elizabeth Dulau appearing as Kleya Marki, Ben Mendelsohn starring as Orson Krennic, and Benjamin Bratt playing Bail Organa.

Immersed in political drama, peril, suspense, and significant consequences, ‘Andor’ is a prequel to the movie ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’. In this film, we see a group of brave rebels risking everything to obtain plans for the Empire’s catastrophic weapon, the Death Star – an action that paves the way for the original 1977 film. The series ‘Andor’ moves the timeline back five years before the events of ‘Rogue One’, delving into the life of its central character, Cassian Andor, who evolves from a casual, skeptical individual to a heroic rebel fighting for an extraordinary destiny.

Both seasons of Andor, among many other Star Wars shows, are now available to stream on Disney+.
