The movie “Anand Sreebala,” featuring Arjun Ashokan, narrates the tale of a man with a challenging background who yearns to become part of the Kerala police force. Despite acing the physical exams, his medical tests prove unsuccessful because of mental health concerns.
The film undergoes a shift as we learn that Anand’s mother, Sreebala, met her untimely end at the hands of thugs. This devastating incident causes Anand to have visions of his mother, and her spiritual support helps bolster his self-assurance.
In this storyline, we find that Anand’s partner, similarly named Sreebala, is a tenacious journalist delving into the Merin death inquiry. Originally deemed a suicide, her tireless work has led to a reopening of the case. Alongside her, Anand becomes embroiled in the quest for truth. Simultaneously, the police department, headed by Sankar (portrayed by Saiju Kurup), is also dedicated to solving this enigma.
The movie centers on if Anand assists in resolving the case and, moreover, reveals that what was initially believed to be a suicide is actually a homicide.
