An arrest has been made on Bold and the Beautiful (but did Baker get the real killer?)

As a seasoned gamer and long-time soap opera aficionado, I must say that The Bold and the Beautiful has certainly kept me hooked with its latest twist! I can’t help but feel for Poppy, who seems to be caught up in a web of deceit and manipulation.

The LAPD are optimistic they’re near solving the Il Giardino Killer case because of the evidence provided by Katie Logan. When her nephew RJ revealed that Poppy had Tom Starr’s backpack, which contained letters stating he was Luna’s father, she quickly contacted the authorities.

In last Monday’s episode of “The Bold and the Beautiful”, events initiated by Katie culminated. She found herself confronting Bill about Poppy, just as Poppy and Luna appeared at the Spencer Mansion entrance. Unwavering in her assertions against Poppy, she was vindicated when the authorities arrived to support her claims.

In a scene reminiscent of daytime drama, the baker, accompanied by an officer in uniform, handed over Tom’s bag. In a surprising twist, the police chief then announced that they had discovered one of Poppy’s compact mint tins in the backpack. It turned out that the lab results were swift at the precinct, as the chief revealed that the mints contained the same narcotic responsible for both Tom and Hollis’ deaths. With this evidence, Poppy was taken into custody.

Unfortunately, she departed from the mansion without any allies backing her up. Poppy was left scrambling to prove her innocence, even to her daughter who was skeptical of her involvement in a double homicide. Bill didn’t warn Poppy to stay quiet, instead letting it be known that he would contact his lawyer. This could imply that Poppy is navigating this situation alone. However, I have my doubts as the plot twist might have been orchestrated for dramatic purposes in the show.

What I’m about to discuss is whether this reasoning holds water. Katie firmly believes that Tom claiming to be Luna’s father and his threat to reveal this fact drove Poppy to her breaking point, leading her to take his life. This wasn’t a heated moment of passion, but a premeditated, calculated murder. Given these circumstances, Hollis unfortunately became an unintended victim.

As a devoted fan, let me clarify something: It wasn’t Poppy who performed the paternity test; her sister Li was the one who did it. So far, there’s no hint that these two women collaborated to deceive Bill in this matter. Given our understanding of the Nozawas, such a collaboration seems unlikely. The sisters have a tumultuous relationship, and Li doubts the authenticity of Poppy’s feelings for Bill, viewing her as more interested in his wealth than him. It’s hard to imagine them conspiring to mislead about Luna’s true father – it would stretch credulity too far.

Poppy had no reason to eliminate Tom because he is Luna’s biological father, as confirmed by a test that was not manipulated. The fact that the evidence pointing to Tom’s death is a mint tin creates doubt. Instead, we saw a substance added to Tom’s drink, there were no special mints or pills involved. It’s also questionable why Poppy would be so careless in hiding her actions, leaving Tom’s belongings and the murder weapon in her apartment, which only serves to incriminate her further.

As I delve deeper into this game, it’s evident that something fishy is happening. It smells like a setup, but the recent arrest of the character, whose bond with Bill and her daughter runs deep, could lead to some intense relationship drama. Let’s see how this storyline develops over the next few gaming sessions.
