Reflecting on their shared history spanning three decades, the actress from Parks and Recreation delved into the strong bond she and Fey have nurtured and reminisced about the years they spent collaborating together.
She confided in Fallon, “We’ve been friends for over 30 years, spending a considerable amount of time together, but it feels like I’m Tina’s second spouse in a way because you two started things first, specifically your work at SNL before I joined.” To which Fey responded, “Yes, that’s accurate.
As a grateful fan, I’d put it this way: Poehler shared that when I walked in, I was showered with the joys of being a second wife. She also mentioned that it was all thanks to Fey who got me the Weekend Update gig. I joked backstage, saying SNL felt like getting into an elite college, something I wouldn’t stand a chance at now if I were applying today.
