Amouranth Finally Toppled? New Streamer Takes Twitch Throne

As a seasoned gamer with decades of streaming under my belt, I must say, the landscape of Twitch is ever-evolving. The reign of Amouranth as queen has waned slightly, and while it’s a tough pill to swallow for her loyal subjects, we cannot ignore the rise of Mira.

Amouranth, who was previously the most-watched streamer on Twitch, now experiences a decrease in viewership. Despite maintaining a strong second position globally, the once reigning “Twitch queen” has reported a 24% decline in watch time since shifting to Kick, as compared to the preceding quarter.

Mira: The New Number One On Twitch

Mira ranks first among female streamers in terms of total viewer hours. Her content, comparable to that of Amouranth, includes “Just Chatting,” IRL Streams, and the occasional pool stream, which primarily draw her audience. During the span from April to June, Mira accumulated a remarkable 5.1 million hours of viewing time, surpassing Amouranth by one million hours. At present, she boasts approximately 712,000 followers on Twitch.

Despite her relatively recent presence on Twitch, she has managed to amass six bans so far. This is quite a feat, but it’s not exactly a goal worth pursuing.

In a clear shift, Mira stands as the uncontested leader among genuine streamers who reveal their true identities. Nonetheless, it’s worth noting that when compared to VTubers who broadcast using animated avatars, Mira still has potential for further growth. The Japanese VTuber Perona, in particular, captivated viewers for a staggering 9.68 million hours during the same timeframe.
