In a recent announcement, Innersloth revealed that the VR-exclusive version of their popular social deduction game, Among Us, is no longer bound to VR and has been renamed to Among Us 3D. This updated version will be accessible not just on VR platforms but also on Steam, where it can now be enjoyed by those who don’t use VR.
At a digital press gathering, Innersloth unveiled Among Us in its 3D form during the event, which was graced by Shacknews. This update means that users without Virtual Reality headsets can still immerse themselves in the first-person 3D variant of the game, set to launch in 2022.
In the debut of Among Us 3D, the creators, Innersloth, are going to unveil a new currency known as Stardust. This currency can be utilized for purchasing decorative items within the game shop. It’s important to note that these items are purely cosmetic and have no effect on gameplay. Additionally, there are proposals to introduce 3D versions of cosmetics that were initially available in the original Among Us.
3D versions of Among Us will allow cross-play with Virtual Reality users, but it won’t mix with the original 2D game. At the moment, there’s no intention to expand the availability of Among Us 3D to other platforms.
