Oh my, the Tirupati Laddu controversy! As a die-hard fan of Rajinikanth and South cinema, I’ve seen it all, from the emotional rollercoaster of his films to the intricate web of controversies that occasionally ensnares our beloved stars.
The debate over Tirupati Laddus has sparked intense national discussion and sensitivity, with figures from the South film industry weighing in on the issue. From Pawan Kalyan’s passionate statement to Karthi clarifying his misconstrued position, numerous aspects related to the topic made headlines. Yet, it was Rajinikanth’s unexpected comment that left many people taken aback.
Well, the superstar was recently spotted by the paparazzi outside the Chennai airport. One of the shutterbugs enquired about his stance on the controversial Tirupati Laddu issue.
Rather than revealing his feelings, the actor instead opted for a noncommittal position. Instead of expressing his opinion, Rajinikanth casually strolled off, adding, “I’m sorry, I have no comments,” while offering a subtle grin.
Previously, the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and actor Pawan Kalyan drew significant focus due to his strong reaction regarding this issue. Interestingly, he performed a cleansing ritual and underwent a vow (deeksha) in connection with the case.
The events unfolded when actor Karthi identified the Tirupati Laddu controversy as a delicate subject during an interview and chose not to comment on it. Later, in a public statement, Pawan Kalyan expressed his strong disapproval of those who avoid discussing important matters like this one.
He had said, “Yesterday, at a film event, they made fun of the Tirumala Laddu. This is my appeal to them. You must think 100 times before speaking about the Tiruamala Laddu. This is not a funny topic. I respect you as actors, but you must stop making such comments against Sanathana Dharma.”
Despite the widespread outcry sparked by Karthi’s comment and Pawan Kalyan’s response, Meiyazhagan’s actor eventually resolved the matter by openly apologizing in public for his statement directed towards the senior actor.
He dropped a post on X (formerly Twitter), wherein he addressed Pawan Kalyan’s reaction to his reply and cleared misunderstandings.
Karthi wrote, “Dear Mr. PawanKalyan, with great admiration for you, I sincerely apologize if any confusion was inadvertently created. As a devoted follower of Lord Venkateswara, I value our traditions highly. Warmest wishes.
