An innovative electric vehicle (EV) company based in America, named Slate, has launched its inaugural model – a budget-friendly, fully electric pickup truck priced under $20,000 USD after incentives. Known as the Slate Truck, this vehicle is designed with affordability, personal customization, and everyday practicality in mind.
This model comes equipped with a 52.7-kilowatt-hour battery, providing approximately 150 miles of travel distance, rear-wheel drive, and a payload capacity of 1,400 pounds. An enlarged 84.3-kilowatt-hour battery increases the range to an estimated 240 miles. Its design is simple yet functional, featuring crank windows and steel wheels, but it does not skimp on essential safety features such as Forward Collision Warning and up to eight airbags for added protection.
What makes Slate unique is its flexible design. With more than 100 additional components and a DIY SUV conversion kit, owners can effortlessly modify the vehicle into a five-seater SUV equipped with a rear seat, roll cage, and airbags. Additionally, the automobile is intended to be customized with wrapping materials, allowing for a variety of appearances over time.
Bypassing infotainment systems, Slate instead focuses on providing a universal phone holder and USB ports, encouraging customers to utilize their own technology. Manufacturing will occur in U.S. factories with direct-to-consumer sales and nationwide service support. Reserve your spot for $50 at the official Slate website now.
