In the first quarter, Amazon (AMZN) surpassed earnings per share (EPS) and revenue estimates, but fell short in terms of Amazon Web Services (AWS) revenue as predicted by analysts. Yet, they still earned vast sums from this service.
Amazon disclosed its Q1 2025 financial report on May 1st, 2025, revealing a revenue generation of approximately $29.267 billion from AWS in the first three months of the year. Despite this, experts had predicted that the company would generate around $29.42 billion in AWS revenue during the same period.
Regardless of falling short of our predictions, it’s important to note that we’ve witnessed a growth in revenue when comparing to the previous quarter and the one before that. Interestingly, if you take a look at the AWS segment in our latest earnings report, it reveals that for the past six quarters, AWS revenues have consistently risen.
Excluding its AWS earnings, Amazon surpassed both Earnings Per Share (EPS) and revenue projections. For additional insights into the company’s historical performance, please visit our AMZN page.
