As a passionate moviegoer who has witnessed the highs and lows of cinema, I find it utterly disheartening to hear about such incidents as the petrol bomb attack on a theater screening Amaran. The fact that this biographical war drama, based on the heroic life of Major Mukund Varadarajan, is facing opposition rather than admiration is truly saddening.
On October 31, the movie Amaran, featuring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, was warmly received with positive reviews upon its release. Unfortunately, this film has encountered resistance as unknown thugs reportedly threw makeshift petrol bombs at a cinema hall showing the biographical war drama on Saturday morning, according to a report by PTI.
Thankfully, I’m glad to report that no one suffered harm during the petrol bomb incident. At present, authorities are diligently investigating this matter to apprehend the perpetrators. A police officer shared with PTI that two unidentified individuals threw petrol bombs over the compound wall of a cinema complex in Melapalayam. The explosion occurred but fortunately, no one was injured and there was no property damage.
A Times of India report reveals that videos from CCTV cameras have been shared online, which depict suspects throwing three petrol bottles at a movie theater. After this event, the management canceled two early-morning shows of the film “Amaran” starring Sivakarthikeyan. Despite this, they chose to restart screenings under police protection.
As an ardent supporter, I can’t keep quiet about this! Taking to my platform on X, I penned a passionate post: “In utter disgust, I vehemently denounce the petrol bomb attack on a theater in Tirunelveli.
He went on to say, “Despite promises for complete security, theaters showing this film have not been adequately protected, which underscores the current state of law enforcement in Tamil Nadu.
Take a look at the full note below:
Amaran is a narrative that draws from actual occurrences and recounts the tale of Major Mukund Varadarajan, a brave Indian Army soldier who tragically lost his life while serving his country. His courage and selflessness were recognized posthumously with the Ashoka Chakra, an esteemed honor. This recognition was accepted by his spouse, Indhu Rebecca Varghese.
In the movie, Sivakarthikeyan plays Major Mukund Varadarajan and Sai Pallavi acts as Indhu Rebecca Varghese. Their acting dynamic was well-received by viewers, helping the film achieve its success.
