Amaran full movie leaked online: Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi’s biographical action movie falls victim to piracy

As a die-hard fan of Tamil cinema, I must say that the recent piracy issue surrounding Sivakarthikeyan’s latest masterpiece, “Amaran,” has left me utterly disheartened. Having grown up watching Kamal Haasan’s magic on the silver screen, I can only imagine the frustration he must be feeling due to this persistent issue.

Since its premiere on Diwali 2024 (October 31), Sivakarthikeyan’s latest movie “Amaran” featuring Sai Pallavi has been receiving widespread acclaim. Despite the biographical action film thriving in cinemas, unfortunate leaks have reportedly surfaced online, making it accessible to viewers beyond the theater screens.

Surprisingly, according to a report from ABP Live, the release of Amaran seems to be marred by piracy. Quickly following its theater release, pirated high-definition versions of the movie surfaced on various infamous websites like MovieRulz, Tamilrockers, 1337x, and numerous Telegram channels. The film, which is based on martyred Major Mukund Varadarajan, has allegedly been illegally distributed online.

Due to digital piracy potentially hindering the prosperity of numerous movies and disrespecting the efforts of all those who worked on their creation, it’s anticipated that Amaran’s ticket sales will experience a substantial decline as well.

It is pertinent to mention that India’s law against piracy is very strict, especially in the realm of films. Downloading or streaming pirated content is punishable in our country. If found guilty, offenders may face fines and imprisonment of up to three years under the Copyright Act.

If proven culpable, violators could potentially receive fines and incarceration lasting up to three years, as outlined in the Copyright Act. Despite ongoing efforts by the government to address this matter, piracy remains a chronic issue that has been causing distress among filmmakers and the entertainment sector.

Returning to the topic of Amaran, this film is inspired by the book “India’s Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Military Heroes.” Amaran is a biographical action-war movie that centers around the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan. Tragically, he was martyred during the Qazipathri Operation in Shopian in 2014, and the film delves into the genuine struggles he encountered in his life.

Alongside Sai Pallavi and Sivakarthikeyan, the film Amaran also stars actors like Rahul Bose, Bhuvan Arora, Shreekumar, and Rohman Shawl in significant but supporting roles. Notably, Amaran is directed by Rajkumar Periasamy and produced by Kamal Haasan under his production house Raaj Kamal Films International.
