This independent production was helmed by director Greg Jardin and features actress Alycia Debnam-Carey, known for her role in “Fear the Walking Dead.” Notably, Colman Domingo, who plays Victor Strand in “Fear TWD,” serves as an executive producer on this film as well.
As a devoted admirer, let me share that the acclaimed director Jardin not only masterminded but also penned this year’s captivating Sundance Festival sensation. Intriguing offers poured from numerous studios, yet Netflix emerged victorious, securing the film for an impressive $17 million – a record-breaking deal at the 2024 festival. Furthermore, the movie graced the screens at SXSW in March.
As per Netflix, the movie is depicted as taking place during a pre-wedding gathering that spirals into an unsettling philosophical horror when an old acquaintance shows up carrying a cryptic bag.
In this movie, Madisen Brown-Carey acts alongside Brittany O’Grady, James Morosini, Devon Terrell, Gavin Leatherwood, Reina Hardesty, Nina Bloomgarden, and David Thompson. The production is a joint effort between Such Content, Boldly Go, and Domingo’s Edith Productions. William Rosenfeld, Kate Andrews, Jason Baum, and Raul Domingo, who is Colman Domingo’s spouse, serve as producers. Alongside them, Colman Domingo and Robert Kapp act as executive producers.
It’s What’s Inside will premiere on Netflix at a date that has yet to be announced.
Alycia Debnam-Carey – other roles
In 2023, actress Alicia Debnam-Carey concluded her portrayal of Alicia Clark, a character she first embodied in the pilot episode of Fear the Walking Dead back in 2015. That same year, she also appeared in the Prime Video drama The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart alongside Sigourney Weaver. Furthermore, Debnam-Carey played the lead role in Hulu’s eight-part mystery thriller series Saint X.
In the upcoming Netflix series titled “Apple Cider Vinegar,” she is set to play a role, loosely inspired by a fictionalized account of events.
Colman Domingo – other recent roles
2023 marked the farewell of Domingo from Victor Strand, a character he portrayed since the initial season of Fear the Walking Dead spinoff. His latest performances include Mister in the musical adaptation of The Color Purple, Bayard Rustin, a civil rights activist, in the Netflix original series Rustin, and The Chief in Drive-Away Dolls.
