Allu Arjun‘s movie Pushpa 2 has been an extraordinary sensation, breaking box-office records and outperforming every other Indian film in terms of earnings. In a recent conversation, the director Sukumar revealed one aspect that gave him the greatest apprehension during the filming process.
In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India, the actor shared that when thinking about Pushpa 2, the Jathara scene particularly stood out to him as the one he initially found the most daunting to execute.
In my line of work as a lifestyle expert, I’ve found myself in situations where unexpected requests can arise. Just like Allu Arjun, I too have experienced an instant change in direction – from a macho photoshoot one moment, to learning I needed to wear a saree the next, much to my initial apprehension about how it would be received. The fear of whether this dramatic shift in appearance would be well-received or not, is something many of us can relate to when stepping out of our comfort zones.
Allu Arjun expressed that when he was first told about the Jathara sequence, his initial response was fear. After completing a masculine photo shoot, he was informed, “It’s not working,” followed by, “I want you to wear a sari and act like a woman.” As they began sketching ideas for it, they eventually understood its potential.
As time went by, AA confessed that at first, he felt incredibly scared and uncertain about wearing a saree. However, as the designs and concept for the movie began to take shape, his confidence gradually grew, allowing him to feel more confident about carrying it off successfully.
Allu Arjun shared that Sukumar had asked him to maintain his masculinity, even while playing a female character, and stressed that the ‘Jathara’ scene would undoubtedly be the film’s standout feature.
According to him, “If I accomplish this task, I will earn an exceptional reputation. The only point Sukumar garu (sir) and I discussed was that, no matter what he wears, he must project extreme masculinity, his dominant persona should never fade away.
From my perspective as a lifestyle connoisseur, I’m excited to share that on the professional front, Allu Arjun has been garnering attention due to his ongoing collaboration with director Trivikram Srinivas. Simultaneously, whispers in the industry suggest a potential swift project with director Atlee.
