The movie “Pushpa,” featuring Allu Arjun, has been one of the most buzzed-about film series over the past five years. In fact, his portrayal of Pushpa Raj earned him his first National Award for Best Actor in 2021.
Clearly, it’s not hard to understand that the character has significantly influenced Allu Arjun. In fact, very recently, the actor shared some insights on how he disengages from his role post a shoot, and he mentioned that it took him nearly three weeks to shake off Pushpa Raj.
During a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he shared that he can step out of character only when he believes the filming is complete. He admitted that the characters do influence him throughout the shooting process, but once the project wraps up, he’s able to move forward.
As a devoted devotee, I can share my personal experience: After three action-packed weeks immersed in Pushpa, I found it challenging to step out of character. However, once the promotional activities were over, I breathed a sigh of relief as I shaved off my hair and beard – that moment marked the complete shedding of the character’s skin and my return to myself.
After moving on from a role, Allu Arjun shared that he doesn’t dwell on the past or revisit those characters. Instead, he emphasized, “Life progresses, fresh hurdles appear, and thrilling opportunities follow. I must create another impression. Pushpa is merely one facet. It’s a beautiful facet. But it’s not all there is.
Instead, consider this: While most of his roles run for about a year and a half, Pushpa’s character lasted him around four years. He explained this by pointing out that his recent work includes Pushpa 1 and Pushpa 2. It’s worth noting that he underscored the importance of continued progress.
In simpler terms, the Pushpa series is a dynamic action-drama directed by Sukumar. The story centers around Pushpa Raj, a character who was once a laborer but became a sandalwood smuggler. He encounters challenges and dangers from all sides as people try to halt his progression. The film boasts a talented cast, including Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari, Sunil, along with many others, in addition to Allu Arjun.
Last December, I had the pleasure of witnessing the release of Pushpa 2: The Rule on the big screen, which stirred a range of mixed to positive reactions from the movie-going public. Towards the end of this captivating sequel, it was hinted that we can expect a third installment in the Pushpa series, aptly titled Pushpa 3: The Rampage.
