For those unfamiliar, “Arya” is a 2004 romantic action film in Telugu language, featuring Allu Arjun as the main character. This was Sukumar’s first directorial project. The movie chronicles the story of Arya, a cheerful and sociable young man who develops feelings for Geetha.

In contrast, Geetha is a shy young woman who unwillingly finds herself in a romantic situation with another man. The movie delves into Arya’s attempts to capture Geetha’s heart in this complex love triangle, ultimately questioning if love will prevail in the end.

Initially, Arya enjoyed tremendous success in cinemas upon release and garnered broad critical praise. Over the years, it has developed a dedicated following, particularly after its Malayalam-dubbed variant premiered in 2006 due to Allu Arjun’s rising fame in Kerala.

The movie, frequently seen as a significant milestone in Allu Arjun’s acting journey, was adapted into various languages such as Odia, Sinhala, and Tamil. Among them, the Tamil adaptation, named “Kutty,” featured Dhanush and Shriya Saran. Additionally, this film led to a spiritual successor, Arya 2, where Allu Arjun shared screen time with Kajal Aggarwal.

In terms of work, Allu Arjun is currently gearing up for the filming of his upcoming project, provisionally named AA22xA6. This movie will be directed by Atlee and is rumored to delve into a “parallel universe” theme. Interestingly, it’s said that Allu Arjun will play dual roles in this film, marking the first time he’s attempted such a feat throughout his career.
