The 2025 edition of the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) began its second day this morning in Mumbai. Notable personalities such as Kareena Kapoor, Karan Johar, and Vijay Deverakonda graced the event. During a panel discussion, the actor from Kingdom shared his views on the future of Indian cinema.
Vijay Deverakonda expressed his thoughts about the possibility of partnership between South and North Indian actors. He highlighted that Shah Rukh Khan’s movie, estimated to be Jawan, has raked in billions of rupees, while Allu Arjun’s film, Pushpa 2, also surpassed the 1000-crore mark. The actor pondered about the extraordinary outcomes if these two stars were to work together someday.
He thought that by combining stars from different areas, he could help “bond” or “unify” the country. Vijay expressed that growth is crucial, and to attain this, increased collaboration is essential. The Liger actor further explained that through collaboration, they could garner more notice or attention.
According to his statement, Shah Rukh Khan’s movie grossed approximately between 800 to 1000 crore rupees, while Allu Arjun’s film reached the 1000-crore mark. If these two stars were to collaborate, it would be like uniting India as a whole. When you combine a star from the South with a star from the North, or two stars from India, it brings our nation together.
Vijay Deverakonda stated that growth is innate within us, and to expand and attract more attention, collaboration seems essential.
