What to do with the Skandha
As a seasoned adventurer with years of exploration under my belt, I’ve come across many mysterious artifacts that hold hidden powers. One such item is the Five Skandhas Pill, which I discovered during my latest journey through the Zodiac Village.
Skandha of Form – Chapter 1
Following the Front Hills Shrine in the Wolf Forest, you’ll come across the Skandha, but beware! If you’ve already clashed with Bullguard, then you’ve ventured too deep. Instead, head towards the river and locate the tranquil waterfall there. A statue’s head is nearby; interact with it to obtain the Skandha.
If there’s any question about what you thought you saw, it was indeed a tiny monkey close to the rock as you approached it. Rest assured, you’ll encounter him again in the days to come.
Skandha of Feeling – Chapter 2
This one is quite involved and requires collecting items in the Yellow Wind Ridge area and then fighting a secret boss. See our guide on where to find all the Buddha Eyes for all the information that you need.
Skandha of Thought – Chapter 3
Navigate the chapter until you find the Mindfulness Cliff Shrine nestled within the Valley of Ecstasy. Take a glance at the edge in front of you, where you’ll spot a colossal, overturned pillar. Move slightly to your left and descend one level. Continue following the path as it circles around and ascend the cliffs from there.
On this journey, you’ll encounter numerous adversaries ahead, but don’t forget to collect the wooden chest en route, as it holds the Fiery Gourd. Proceed until you reach the next statue head, then engage with it to acquire the Skandha.
Skandha of Choice – Chapter 4
Navigate through the Web-filled Cavern until you arrive at the Purifying Fountain, marked by a significant event in the storyline. Once that unfolds, proceed into the tunnel and collect the Shrine. Continue on to the next open space, then veer left when you can, leading you over some rocks. Peer down towards the water, and you’ll spot a statue head; there, you’ll discover the Skandha of Choice.
Skandha of Consciousness – Chapter 6
Chapter 6 is very different from the rest of the game, so get ready for some fun. You also might want to come back after you have explored Chapter 6 a little bit for yourself if you wish to avoid spoilers. If not, read on.
To move about in the fresh locale, you should utilize your recently acquired Somersault Cloud. Just opposite Verdant Path, the starting point, you’ll encounter a sizable boss named Son of Stones perched on a cliff. You have the option to engage him in combat or soar past him, whichever suits your fancy.
Progressing deeper into the valley on your right, you’ll come across a lengthy, narrow gully that ends in an expansive open area with a colossal stone at its center. Should you currently possess the four Skandhas, this stone will transform into a formidable opponent for you to battle – a titan named Giant Shigandang. This behemoth could very well be the most massive adversary we’ve encountered in terms of weight. If, however, you lack the four Skandhas, no event will occur.
To inflict harm upon him, aim to shatter the crystals attached to his hands, but prioritize evading his massive strikes instead. Once defeated, it will collapse in a manner creating a path with its arm. You can then ascend using this pathway to obtain the Skandha of Consciousness.
