List of all characters deleted from Captain America 4: Brave New World’s final cut
Seth Rollins’ Serpent Society member:
In an interview with ComicBook, director Julius Onah shared that at first, Rollins was chosen to portray a member of the Serpent Society. However, he pointed out that translating his character as it appeared in the comics was challenging because it had a snake-like appearance and abilities, which didn’t match the film’s intended tone.
Originally, he was trying to figure out which approach would work best for this kind of movie. But, because of shifts in production, they opted for a different solution instead. In commendation of Rollins, it was Giancarlo Esposito’s accessibility that led them to consider him for the villain role in Sidewinder.
Rosa Salazar’s Rachel Leighton/Diamondback
She is particularly recognized for acting in NBC’s Parenthood, Alita: Battle Angel, American Horror Story: Murder House, and Brand New Cherry Flavor. Previous reports had suggested that Salazar’s character, Diamondback, was still expected to appear despite Rollins’ character being dropped. This speculation gained more credibility following test screenings. Nevertheless, in the final version of the production, her character did not make it into the final cut.
Logan Kim’s Amadeus Cho
It’s common knowledge that Kim made an appearance in two Ghostbusters films as a Podcast character. There were rumors circulating on social media (previously Twitter) in October 2024, by a well-known media figure named Daniel Richtman, about Kim’s involvement in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). He was speculated to play Amadeus Cho, but unfortunately, he did not make it into the final cut.
Elijah Richardson’s Eli Bradley
In an interview with Screen Rant, it was disclosed by former Marvel Studios VP Nate Moore that Eli, played by Richardson, was initially planned for early drafts of the script. Unfortunately, Eli didn’t make it to the final version due to a desire to manage numerous characters and ensure every character had a purpose in the storyline. Consequently, his character was removed.
