All American confirms fan theories surrounding season 7's mass series regular exit

As a long-time fan who’s grown up alongside the cast of “All American,” I must admit that the news of so many familiar faces departing has left me feeling a tad nostalgic, yet strangely optimistic. It’s like saying goodbye to old friends moving on, but knowing they’ve left behind a legacy that will continue to shape the future.

After pondering for a long time about what the seventh season of “All American” might be like, fans are gradually receiving clearer insights as several main cast members have confirmed their departure from the show before season seven. Notable exits include Samantha Logan (in the role of Olivia Baker), Cody Christian (Asher Adams), Monét Mazur (Laura Baker), Chelsea Tavares (Patience), and Karimah Westbrook (Grace James).

In the upcoming Season 7, we’ll see Michael Evans Behling (as Jordan Baker), Greta Onieogou (in her role as Layla Keating), and Bre-Z (portraying Coop) reprising their roles as series main cast members.

Given Daniel Ezra’s prior announcement about his departure, it’s not shocking that Olivia and Grace, his on-screen family, have also departed the show. In fact, viewers have been anticipating Samantha Logan officially leaving her series regular role as confirmation of Spencer and Olivia’s ongoing happy marriage post their wedding. Regarding Asher, Patience, and Laura, All American‘s sixth season provides a plausible reason for each character to advance in their individual life paths.

In the last episodes of season six, it seems that the central focus of All American shifted from Spencer James, with Jordan and Layla stepping up as the primary characters. They got married and were even given the Baker family home. Furthermore, Cooper’s past as Spencer’s best friend and her personal development throughout the series have equipped her to support Jordan and Layla in carrying the show forward.

In the show All American, Jordan, Layla, and Coop have been strengthening their bond since the first season. However, with their usual support system, the Vortex, not always available, this threesome can delve into new facets of their friendship. For those who enjoyed One Tree Hill, season seven might resonate with how the departure of Chad Michael Murray (Lucas Scott) and Hilarie Burton (Peyton Sawyer) resembled a shift, much like when Nathan and Haley, played by James Lafferty and Bethany Joy Lenz, took center stage. Similarly, Brooke Davis, portrayed by Sophia Bush, assumed a more significant role in the narrative.

As a gamer, I’m excited because even though some familiar faces might be leaving “All American,” it doesn’t mean the show is losing its charm. In fact, the upcoming seventh season promises fresh blood with the arrival of Coach Cassius Jeremy and his son, KJ. Plus, we’ll be seeing more of Alexis Chikaeze and Antonio J. Bell as series regulars. If you remember, they played Amina and Khalil in season six. So, there’s still plenty to look forward to!

In season seven, the overarching narrative will bring Jordan, Layla, and Coop’s evolution into maturity to the forefront, since they have experienced so much, and with the recurring adult characters no longer being main cast members, it falls upon them to take on adult roles and offer guidance.

Restating the focus of the upcoming series for the next generation mainly revolving around football themes, brings the show back to its roots, allowing the fresh cast to explore narratives that the initial “All American” characters hadn’t tackled before.
