Many soccer players, female or male, tend to retire in their mid-30s, as noted by ESPN.
Morgan has announced that her next match with San Diego’s Wave FC team is scheduled for this coming Sunday, September 8. They will face off against the North Carolina Courage in this game
In a remarkable sports career, Morgan became well-known for netting the decisive goal during the 2012 London Olympics against Canada, earning an Olympic gold medal. Furthermore, she served as captain for the women’s national soccer team that won two FIFA World Cup titles in 2015 and 2019
Although Morgan wasn’t selected for the Women’s US Soccer team competing at the 2024 Paris Olympics where they claimed the gold against Brazil, she was indeed a member of the squad that clinched the first-ever CONCACAF W Gold Cup title in 2024
Regarding her records, she’s netted 123 goals from 224 appearances with the US Women’s National Team, making her fifth on their all-time goalscorers list. Time magazine recognized her as one of their 100 Most Influential People in both 2022 and 2019
Together with their husband, former LA Galaxy soccer player Servando Carrasco, Morgan has a child named Charlie who was born on May 7th, 2019. It appears that Alex Morgan is progressing in her second pregnancy, but given how far along she seems to be, she has decided to step away from work for the health of the unborn baby
Alex Morgan is one of the executive producers for an upcoming CBS miniseries called Summer of Gold, which celebrates American female athletes during the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. She was also interviewed for Netflix’s soccer documentary Under Pressure released in December 2023.
