Alessandro Michele Ignited a Bathroom Rave for Valentino FW25

After a successful stint at Gucci followed by an exciting debut at Valentino last September, designer Alessandro Michele is back on the runway with his second collection for the brand. His latest show, bathed in blood-red, transformed a bathroom into a wild rave, leaving the audience thrilled and shouting for more. The front row was filled with enthusiastic attendees like Chappell Roan, Jared Leto, and Barry Keoghan as the sound of toilet flushes morphed into the melodious tones of Lana Del Rey’s “Breaking Up Slowly”.

Behind tinted walls adorned with bathroom stalls, models were secretly positioned. As soon as the lights went up, they dashed out from their hidden spots onto the runway, revealing themselves one after another to showcase Michele’s evolving concept for the brand. The Fall/Winter 2025 collection brimmed with the designer’s characteristic maximalist elements, delving deeper into Valentino’s extensive history. By blending vintage and modern styles, the presentation began with a sheer lace bodysuit left open at the bottom, suggesting haste, followed by opulent fur coats, wide-legged wool pants, and eye-catching pearl accessories.

Immersed in the radiant hue of Valentino red, the atmosphere pulsated with energy in look three. The strong-shouldered dresses, graphic kimonos, and feline-patterned gowns left me spellbound, causing a wave of cheers to ripple through the crowd. The 1970s suiting made a lively entrance, adorned with gold trimmings, “PANTHER 60” jerseys, bow-tied tops, and an innovative Vans collaboration that added vibrancy to Valentino’s multifaceted character. As the models retreated to their stations, Michele’s runway spectacle came to a close, solidifying his reputation for turning everything he touches into gold.
