Unlike the animated movie, the intellectual property rights for any unique imagery or symbols created for that film still belong to the company. The original tale, often linked with One Thousand and One Arabian Nights, is now being adapted into a horror film instead.

The upcoming movie, slated for production next month in the U.K., goes by the title “Aladdin: The Monkey’s Paw,” as reported by Deadline. This project is a joint venture between Empire Studios, Every Entertainment, and 8th Law Pictures.

In contemporary London, a man named Aladdin unexpectedly obtains an old monkey’s paw rumored to fulfill wishes. However, he soon learns that each granted wish carries an unbearable cost. As those close to him suffer the curse’s consequences, Aladdin must battle an escalating evil – a malevolent force that thrives on every wish made.

In this movie, Bradley Stryker is both the director and an actor. Nick Sagar, Ricky Norwood, and Montana Manning join him on screen. The screenplay was written by Charley McDougall, who also acts as a producer, alongside Stryker, Sagar, and Jamie McLeod-Ross. Rustin Matthew, Terry Bird, and Arthur Corber are the executive producers.

McDougall expressed that they’ve long been interested in delving into horror from a personal perspective, focusing not only on the frightening elements but also on the emotional toll of desires. They described this story as something that has lingered with them for some time, and now it’s time to bring it to life.
