AJR to Debuted their latest single in Japan on Sunday, find out the official release date

Just recently, AJR unveiled an upcoming EP titled ‘What No One’s Thinking’, which they plan to release prior to their summer tour. Although the specific date for its release hasn’t been set yet, fans have already received a sneak peek of the EP as they premiered the first single on Sunday, June 29, 2025, during a live performance in China. The lead single is titled “Betty”.

The latest extended play (EP) from them cleverly references both their debut EP and the sole other EP they’ve released, titled “What Everyone’s Thinking“, launched in September 2016. It’s quite intriguing to witness this band encircle back to their roots with their music.

As a diehard fan, I’m super excited about the upcoming Somewhere in the Sky tour by my favorite band! Starting July 20, they’ll be kicking off this summer extravaganza, and if their recent Instagram hints are any indication, we might just hear some tracks from their first EP. And here’s another piece of news that has me jumping up and down – a music video for “Betty” is on the horizon! They’ve even given us a sneak peek behind the scenes on their Instagram. Can’t wait to see what they’ve got in store for us!

On July 9, 2025, it’s expected that the new video will drop simultaneously with the single. In the past, this band has premiered videos live on YouTube, featuring a real-time chat, which we can anticipate in the coming ten days. They have also encouraged their followers to save the song beforehand on their preferred music platform, as many contemporary artists often do.

Furthermore, it’s intriguing to know whether Betty will be the sole new song performed live this summer or if there will be additional songs added too. Given that it’s AJR, their audience is accustomed to experiencing the unexpected. However, one fact remains undeniable: one member of the trio will not join them this summer – their older brother, Dr. Adam Met, who has decided to take a break from the band to focus on his first book release. Interestingly, AJR has performed without Adam in the past; they had some shows abroad last autumn without him as well.
