Ajith Kumar calls himself ‘accidental actor’; reveals SHOCKING reason behind why he joined films

As a lifestyle expert, I’d put it this way: After receiving the revered Padma Bhushan award, Ajith Kumar has undeniably been shining brightly in the spotlight. With his impressive track record in films and racing, this Tamil stalwart unexpectedly found himself on the silver screen, referring to acting as an unintended career path for him. Cinema, it seems, was never his initial ambition.

In a chat with India Today, actor AK shared an unexpected viewpoint about himself, describing himself as an unintentional actor. He elaborated on this, stating that he ventured into films primarily to fund his true love and passion – racing.

Back then, when Ajith was just 18 years old, he worked at an automobile firm. During those days, his parents didn’t have enough funds to support his love for racing. It was during this period that he started accepting modeling jobs which provided him with a decent income.

He never considered acting as part of his plan. Instead, he stumbled into it. He began receiving roles and the income from those roles went towards his passion for racing.

In addition, AK emphasized that at one time, the consistent earnings from his film projects aided him in overcoming severe financial difficulties. Moreover, he made it clear that his intention behind joining films wasn’t to achieve fame or stardom, but simply to repay his outstanding debts.

Ajith Kumar explained that he didn’t enter the film industry with dreams of becoming famous or pursuing fame. Instead, his goal was to earn enough money to settle his outstanding debts. Upon reflection, he admitted that in his early films, his acting skills were less than stellar.

Today, Ajith Kumar’s recognition and popularity are unparalleled in the realm of Tamil cinema, a testament to his exceptional talent and enduring presence.

Regarding his upcoming movie projects, the actor has been making headlines following the successes of Vidaamuyarchi and Good Bad Ugly. One of these new movies is rumored to be helmed by none other than Dhanush.

Additionally, you should know that his 54th birthday falls on May 1, 2025. Lately, this actor has been hospitalized at Apollo Hospitals in Chennai due to an injury.
