A fresh photo taken backstage might have unveiled Eman Esfandi‘s revamped character, Ezra Bridger, for Season 2 of Ahsoka. This picture was posted on social media during the active filming and appears to give fans their first peek at the live-action Jedi’s revitalized look after his escape from exile.
Ezra Bridger might have a beardless look in Ahsoka Season 2
The image posted on Esfandi’s Instagram Story and later shared by @Mandoverse_updates on Threads reveals a new appearance for Esfandi. Unlike his full-bearded and long-haired self from Ahsoka Season 1, he now sports a clean-shaven face and shorter hair.
In the initial season of Ahsoka, Esfandi made his first appearance as the matured Ezra, mirroring the Jedi character after years spent far away from the galaxy with Thrawn. His original appearance symbolized the solitude and struggle faced during this period. As filming for Season 2 commences, his revised look now resembles more closely how Ezra initially appeared in the Star Wars Rebels animated series.
In Season 2, Ezra’s part will be distinct from his storyline in Season 1. During the first season, Ahsoka and Sabine were on a quest to find Ezra across the vast galaxy. However, the finale saw their roles reversed, with Ezra and Thrawn making their way back to the main galaxy, leaving Ahsoka and Sabine on Peridea. Now, it’s anticipated that Ezra will assume a more significant role within the New Republic.
Based on the latest updates about Ahsoka’s production, Season 2 will carry forward the stories of Rosario Dawson’s character Ahsoka Tano and Natasha Liu Bordizzo’s Sabine Wren as they navigate Peridea. Simultaneously, there are hints that Ezra might reconnect with Hera Syndulla and possibly Zeb, joining forces to counter Thrawn’s army. Furthermore, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Hayden Christensen will be back among the cast members.
Esfandi’s recent makeover has been likened to Ezra’s animated style from seasons 1 and 2 of Rebels. This change could symbolize a shift in Esfandi’s perspective following his rescue, and a reinvigoration of his purpose.
Ahsoka Season 2 is currently in production and expected to stream on Disney+ in 2026.
