Agreement Between Twitch And Musk After He Tried To Sue The Platform For Not Placing Ads On X

It seems Twitch reached an agreement with Elon Musk regarding accusations of an advertising ban, which prompted him to consider suing businesses that didn’t advertise on his platform.

Musk Claimed That Twitch Was Boycotting X

Last November, Elon Musk asserted that Twitch, Amazon’s streaming platform, had chosen to refrain from advertising X on their social media site.

Although others attributed the significant drop in ad revenue on X primarily to Elon Musk’s actions, such as firing numerous employees, modifying policies that allowed more tolerance for hate speech, and his own leadership, the CEO of X maintained that the cause was a boycott initiated by Twitch and other companies.

Twitch Seemingly Settled With Musk

Currently, it appears that Twitch and Musk are moving towards a resolution. On Monday, X Corp.’s legal team notified U.S. District Court Judge Jane Boyle that they had reached a “mutual understanding” with Amazon’s streaming service to settle the disputes.

The lawyer suggested that Boyle should postpone the ongoing legal action until the start of next year. This delay could occur if X Corp. formally drops the allegations against Twitch, or if both companies submit an update on their current status at that time.

To date, it’s unclear what the terms of the agreement are, nor can we determine whether Musk’s recent appointment to the U.S. government has any impact on this current state of affairs.

What are your thoughts on the case? What kind of agreement are you hoping for?
