Nestled amidst the foggy woods of Malnad during the 90s, Agnyathavasi unfolds the tale of a secluded hamlet untouched by contemporary advancements. The once dormant police station reawakens following the discovery of the deceased scholar Srinivas Iyer. Initially, the circumstances seem ordinary, but mounting doubts compel Inspector Govindu to file an uncommon case. He embarks on an investigation alongside his partner Ananthu to uncover the truth behind this mysterious death.

He establishes contact with Arun, the son of Iyer who has been estranged for some time, via email. Despite not physically visiting, Arun’s digital presence ignites profound feelings, particularly in Pankaja, stirring a unique blend of nostalgia and anticipation.

The story gradually unveils a perplexing entity named Pashambara, which appears to be related to both death and silence. By means of rituals, correspondence, and faded recollections, the inquiry progresses.
