As a lifestyle expert with years of experience in the entertainment industry, I have seen my fair share of scandals and controversies. The recent allegations against Malayalam actor Siddique are particularly disturbing, given the gravity of the charges.
The Malayalam actor Siddique has been accused of sexual misconduct by a young actress, leading him to resign from his position as General Secretary of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA). However, the allegations against him didn’t stop there, as actress Revathy filed a complaint in Thiruvananthapuram under severe charges. Currently, Siddique is seeking protection from arrest through an anticipatory bail plea at the Kerala High Court, in response to the sexual assault charges levied against him.
In simpler terms, Revathy publicly accused actor Siddique of sexual assault in the midst of the Hema Committee Report controversy within the Malayalam film industry. During a press conference, she shared her personal story and disclosed that the incident occurred at a hotel in 2016.
As reported by The News Minute, she stated, “It was a deceitful situation. He sexually violated me. Anything he claims now is sheer falsehood. His actions were equivalent to rape. He violated my boundaries sexually and physically harmed me.”
Yet, Siddique refuted the serious accusations, labeling them as a ploy for attention. Moreover, he submitted a police report about the actress to the Director General of Police (DGP).
In a report, it’s said he wrote in his defense, “At first, she accused me of using inappropriate language towards her. However, her accusations have since shifted to claims of sexual misconduct. This change in her allegations occurred after the release of the Hema Committee report.”
Back in 2019, Revathy first shared her thoughts about this issue. Unfortunately, no one seemed to listen then. Now, amidst the controversy surrounding the Hema Committee Report, she has gone back to the police with a request for justice.
Following the publication of the Hema Committee Report, notable individuals like Mohanlal, the committee’s president, have stepped down from AMMA. As a result, AMMA has disbanded and a fresh committee is expected to be established shortly.
