AEW Star Saraya Opens Up About a Potential WWE Return

More recently, the ex-AEW World Champion Saraya has been contemplating a comeback to WWE. Back in late 2017, she endured a severe neck injury during a live event while performing as Paige within WWE. However, even with this setback, she persisted alongside her Absolution teammates, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville.

Back in April 2018, following WrestleMania 34, Saraya made an appearance on WWE RAW to announce her retirement. For a number of years, she continued to work with WWE in different screen roles before finally parting ways with the company in 2022 when her contract came to an end.

After a gap of almost five years, she eagerly got back into the wrestling ring at AEW Full Gear 2022, squaring off against Britt Baker. However, since October 2024, she hasn’t been seen in AEW again, as she lost a four-way Women’s World Championship match on Dynamite.

Saraya has just announced significant news regarding her professional wrestling journey, indicating that she’s close to calling it quits. However, she emphasized that she intends to rejoin AEW at some point down the line. In a recent chat, she further discussed the potential for a comeback in WWE as well.

Saraya discusses potential WWE return after years away

During a conversation on the Hall of Fame podcast, Saraya indicated her readiness to rejoin WWE should a suitable chance arise.

Absolutely! To put it simply, WWE has been a significant part of my life, almost like a second family. They’ve played a crucial role in shaping who I am today and have offered me countless moments of joy and inspiration. However, the prospect of joining forces with them was initially driven by my brother’s aspirations in wrestling. I wanted nothing more than to see him succeed in this field. But make no mistake, my admiration for WWE remains undiminished. If they ever needed something from me that was exhilarating, count me in without a second thought!
